End of Absence

Absence, distance and time are nature's ways of maintaining the intensity and freshness in relationships. Remember the time we waited for weeks for a post card of a close relative ? Or the time we waited for months for our relatives to visit us . Or the tears we shed for those who were so far away from us, that if we wished to talk to them that very moment it was impossible .Frustrating distance ! Technology almost destroyed this long wait except when the person is no more . Now people are available at the click of the mouse . Just press a key on the phone and the person can be reached even if he is far across the seven seas . This has however led to some other problems in modern civilizations."End of Absence " and "Over Presence" . At any point of time you can see hundreds of glowing contacts that can be contacted the very next micro second ,but you don't because they are always there .They are all just there . Always Available ! Seldom anyone of them wishes to engage in a real life , fresh connect .Does over presence make us less wanted ? and Less valuable ? I have always tried to treat net presence the same way as real presence . Netiquettes should not be different from etiquette as finally we are dealing with human beings . End of absence has also led to people losing some beautiful gifts of god ."Solitude , Day dreaming , reflection and contemplation " necessary for all of us to constantly be in touch with our innermost selves . Some how my current reflections on online communication resonates so much with this pod cast .
